Windows XP: System Restore Cleanup
System restore points can build up and waste space after a while. There is a facility to delete all but the last of these. On a system that had been activly used for four years and never cleaned up, the following results were observed.
Performing The Cleanup
- Launch the 'Disk Cleanup' utility and select the 'More Options' Tab.
- Click on the
button.
There are three clean up buttons so be sure to click the one associated to the system restore.
- Click on 'yes' on the confirmation window.

- Click on 'Ok'

- Click on 'Yes' to perform all the disk clean operations that have been chosen.

- The old restore points are deleted and the 'Disk Cleanup' utility closes.
